My voiceover/on-camera role for Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice 2009 Season just aired on NBC. I had an amazing time working with Joan Rivers, Jesse James, and Clint Black. Jesse James gave me a national shout out which I will forever be grateful for! If you missed it, take a look at the video clip on my Media section of the website. Thank you again for all of your support!f you just show up prepared!" – Tonya Canady

Watch out for the Grandmas on October 6, 2007!
Get ready for a powerful, entertaining and compelling story with music inspired by Ms. Yolanda Adams. Author,Playwright Wanda McKiver is proud to bring this production to stage with six extremely talented actors as well as vocalist! This is definitely one of those plays that you just can't miss!Join the household of five, yes, five generations of women as they take you through laughs, tears and life lessons in this comedic drama. The eldest, Big Momma Clara is as funny as she is wise, constantly trying to "keep her nerves" while attempting to deal with the confused and troubled youth of today. Then there is Grandma Mildred, daughter of Big Momma Clara, who is still vibrant, raising her tough cookie of a grand-daughter, Kisha in addition to Kisha's newborn daughter Samia. Finally, there is Charlene, Kisha's mother who refuses to let the label Grandma, or anything close to it catch up to her.

All Shook Up
Tonya had to play the daughter, Lorraine, in All Shook Up half way through the show when the original actress was seriously hurt during the performance and taken away in an ambulance. Keep in mind, Tonya was the understudy for Sylvia, the mother in All Shook Up and also played various ensemble roles. To say the least, All Shook Up was an exciting experience!
